A free alternative to Freedom
Freedom's App Store listing shows $8.99 a month, $39.99 a year, or $199 once. Otto is free. But they are not the same product, and if you need the thing Freedom is best at, Otto is the wrong answer.

Where Freedom is the better buy
Freedom is a cross-device blocker. Mac, Windows, iOS, Android and the browser, one blocklist, one schedule, everywhere at once. If your problem is Twitter on a work laptop as much as on a phone, nothing free replaces that and Otto certainly does not.
Where Otto is the better fit
If the problem is the phone in your hand in the evening, Otto is the whole of what you need: a daily budget that counts down, a hard window that simply does not open, and no subscription for either.
Otto is free, on both stores
No paid tier, no trial that expires, no account. There is a tip jar in the settings and that is the whole business model.
